Q-Power analyzes, designs, finances, builds and maintains waste-heat-recovery heat exchangers (so called Q-Box) that reduce energy costs and carbon emissions for our clients. More specifically, our engineers will analyze the heat-recovery potential of every industrial energy source and will design an individually tailored Q-Box application made up of thermal Q-Pipes for each customer to effectively recapture waste heat that would have otherwise been discharged unused into the atmosphere.

Q-Pipe

Q-Pipe At the core of our Q-Box heat exchanger lie our superconductor heat pipes, called Q-Pipes. A Q-Pipe is a special thermal pipe. It`s heat transfer mechanism combines the principles of both, thermal conductivity and phase transition, and thus efficiently manages the transfer of heat between two different agents (liquid-vapor-liquid). This type of heat transfer was further developed by using a advanced vacuum which is an innovative approach independently researched and developed by Q-Power.

When one end of the Q-Pipe is heated, a working fluid inside the pipe turns into vapour by absorbing latent heat of vaporization. The vapor naturally flows through the system at high speeds due to the low pressure and condenses back into a liquid at the cold end of the pipe, releasing the latent heat. The working fluid then returns to the hot end of the pipe where it evaporates again and repeats the whole cycle: along both interfaces of the thermal pipe, the temperature is now constant.
The evaporation and condensation principle occurs in an advanced vacuum at 10(-8) Torr; thus, the heat transfer takes place without any impediment, without heat-loss and without an external energy supply.

» Q-Pipe technology has the most efficient heat transfer properties
» Heat transfer is 1000 times faster as with ordinary pipes
» It is isothermal along the entire length
» A very high heat transfer
» Unlimited functionality

Q-Power produces Q-Pipes with dimensions between 0.5m-4m in length diameters between 14mm-45mm.
